Here is a basic breakdown on how the tails work…
Moon tail: more grippy and sticky, to make up for the rest of the board being wide.
Diamond tail: breaks the rail line sooner so rides a little smaller than it is…less grippy than moon tail.
Swallow tail: A little less grippy than the moon tail because it has more surface area than the moon tail.
